The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouts - and each year Girl Scouts across Black Diamond Council are taking on issues to create real, lasting and sustainable change in their communities. You can be an ally in their extraordinary achievement by supporting Black Diamond Girl Scouts on this journey.

Join us in honoring past award winners, as well as the current Gold Award recipients at this inaugural special event. Dinner will be included with your registration. Our special guest of the evening will be our keynote speaker, Alys Smith, who is the Co-Founder of the Wing 2 Wing Foundation.

Substance Abuse and Alcohol Use

GSBDC has an obligation to its girl members, their families, its volunteers, and staff to maintain a drug free and alcohol-free environment. Alcohol may be used with approval of the Board of Directors for adult only events, where no girls are present. In addition, staff persons and volunteers with drug-related convictions must notify GSBDC immediately following conviction. Anyone with knowledge of related convictions should notify GSBDC.

Alcohol at Adult Events Approval Procedure

Contact [email protected] to make a formal request for alcohol to be used at an adult only event. Approvals must go before the GSBDC Board of Directors, a policy and decision making group of volunteers, who meet quarterly. Requests should be made 4-6 months in advance of the event.
